Portraits of ancient friends
(shinrin-yoku)
This has been a very personal project for many many years, I have over 2000 images of trees from my travels and ... I also integrated it in my Men's Mental Health Initiative.
Trees have been an integral part since my earliest childhood. Growing up as that 'weird' kid in a small alpine valley in Austria, I consider trees my friends and forests were always my sanctuary, to restore and heal me. I have learnt a lot of life lessons from them and became an advocate for reforestation and rewilding.
Trees and forests act as helpers to bring balance to all our senses - even scientifically proven now. Just immersing ourselves in nature more often reaps many benefits, even on a cellular and mental health/brain-chemistry level.
